Here at Votch, we only use cruelty free materials.

This includes a range of fabrics made from different materials such as Piñatex, a by-product from the pineapple industry, AppleSkin, a by-product from the apple juice industry, Enviroleather and stainless steel.

Vegan Leather

Traditionally, leather is made from animal rawhides and skin. The term ‘leather’ helps people disassociate from the fact that an animal used to live in the skin used for shoes, bags, wallets and more.

For those choosing to live a kinder way of life, vegan leather alternatives are a great way to go. Vegan leather is a term which describes a number of materials made to imitate that of traditional leather. However, these materials are all 100% cruelty free meaning no lives were lost during production.

At Votch, we strongly believe no living being should have to suffer for our benefit. So, we are on an ever evolving journey, seeking out the most innovative, cruelty free materials, to use in our products.

The first collection we launched, our Classic Collection, features straps made of a cotton woven microfibre and is coated with PU. This material is incredibly durable and breathable and imitates ‘traditional leather’.

Following the success of our Classic Collection we then launched our Moment range. The straps on our Moment range are made from TPE, polyester and cotton, also known as Enviroleather. We also use this material across our newly launched Aalto, Kindred and Lyka ranges.

Piñatex Leather

We are also incredibly proud of our Piñatex collection. Piñatex is a natural leather alternative made from fibres extracted from pineapple leaves, a by-product from the pineapple harvest.

No extra land, pesticides or fertilisers are used in the production of Piñatex and provides additional income for the farmers growing this extraordinary fruit.

AppleSkin

We have also recently launched a new range of Classic Essential Accessories and Apple compatible watch straps crafted from AppleSkin. AppleSkin is a bio-based material that is produced by using residual fibres from the apple juice industry and is transformed in to a durable leather alternative.

Stainless Steel

Finally, after a number of requests from our customers, we launched our mesh collection in 16mm and 20mm.

These stainless steel straps are fully interchangeable with the rest of the collection and come in four colour ways.
